Our Biggest Lesson From 2023 Wedding Season

Through the wild and sweet wedding season that was 2023, a shocking reality became clear to our team: wedding mornings went significantly more smoothly when we ditched the getting ready schedule. Why? Let us tell you more!

Here’s what we found in 2023:

When bridesmaids were scheduled to arrive at a certain time, they were more often than not running late. Despite their best efforts, many were rushing in at the last second with wet hair fresh from their shower, and a starbucks in hand ;)

Our solution? Have the entire wedding party present from the get go (or at least anyone who is having their hair and makeup professionally done).

We’re Ready When You Are

To put it simply, traditional timelines often fall short when faced with the unpredictability of wedding morning preparations. By forgoing strict schedules, we embrace a dynamic approach that allows us to assess the room, gauge readiness, and ensure everyone is poised for their moment in the spotlight ;)

This adaptability ensures a stress-free environment where each member of the wedding party is ready precisely when they need to be. The result is a more relaxed and enjoyable getting-ready experience for everyone involved, and somehow we have ended up getting done AHEAD of schedule for almost all of our 2023 weddings!

Together Is Better

An added bonus we found when our brides ditched the schedule was that the energy in the room became an all out vibe, versus just an assembly line! Laughter, encouragement, and maybe a mimosa or two created an atmosphere of celebration and joy for the big day. The getting-ready process became a memorable part of the day rather than a checklist of tasks!

Our Biggest Takeaway

Okay, if you’re almost convinced that you should throw out your getting ready timeline, we do want you to keep this in mind. You, the bride, are always the most important on your wedding day. You probably need to be ready by a certain time, and that is our main priority! And if you have certain family or wedding party members that need to go first, we are always happy to honor your requests!

And if you need us to follow a timeline, we are happy to do that as well! Just make sure that they are ready to go on time-and that their hair is clean and dry ;)

As we close the chapter on the 2023 wedding season, the invaluable lesson learned is clear: the magic of your wedding morning is amplified when your entire wedding party is present - not to mention that we are able to work much more efficiently!
